Matsushige Yutaka to star in new TV Asahi drama SP "Naikaku Tokumei Sousakan Hato"

Matsushige Yutaka will be starring in the new TV Asahi drama SP "Naikaku Tokumei Sousakan Hato" (The cabinet's special investigator Pigeon) which will be shown at 10am on 10 December. The story is about a special investigator of the Japanese Cabinet who tries to find out the truth behind a serial murder case which is related to a female politician's past.

Matsushige plays the lead character Sunami Taihei who hides his identity by taking on various identities such as the owner of a small suburb electrical appliances store and a news cameraman so as to gather information for his work. As such, his identity and background is known only to a few people include Washio Noboru (Enoki Takaaki) who is the director of the department. The only thing which is proof of his identity is a code name and Taihei is nicknamed Hato (Pigeon) in line with his ability to assimilate into the crowds and pick up information like how a pigeon does when picking up its food.

Taihei is assigned a new mission where he has to look into the background of female politician Tokura Tokiko (Toyota Maho). Although Tokura is known to be a "clean" politician who is passionate about social welfare, she has a hidden past where a series of murders happened to the people around her. Just when Taihei is trying to investigate the case, he is hampered by the presence of weekly magazine reporter Oshinari Kyoko (Yada Akiko) who suspects that he is not what he seems to be. Meanwhile at home, he is constantly getting into trouble with his wife Ritsuko (Asada Miyoko) who gets angry at him being an overly nice person although he actually becomes a totally different person when working on his mission and agonises over having to hide his true identity from her.
