Hayama Shono to star in new FujiTV drama SP "Refrain"

Hayama Shono will be starring in the new FujiTV drama SP "Refrain" written by 35-year-old Miyazaki Sho who won this year's "29th FujiTV Young Scenario Award". The drama SP is a science-fiction love story about the complicated and delicate feelings of an 18-year-old youth and will be shown at 12.35am on 18 December (Kanto region only).

Nishisaka Mizunari, the chief judge of the award and producer of this drama SP, commented that Hayama was chosen as he fitted the award's theme of finding the next generation of drama scriptwriters and his ability to show a variety of emotions from endearing to dark and lonely. As such, he was offered the difficult role of Sawatari Minato.

The scriptwriter Miyazaki who is currently working at a tuition school as an administrator, revealed that this is the 12th time he had entered the contest and he has been learning how to write scripts for the past 13 years. As such, he joked that it was probably his perseverance rather than his talent which helped him win this time. Although the story has a science-fiction feel, it is actually a love story between two young people and he hopes that the viewers will enjoy watching it.

Co-stars in this drama include Tsunematsu Yuri, Yamaguchi Sayaka and Hirako Yuki.
