Reason for watching this:

Definitely not for Kamenashi Kazuya. It's the story which seems interesting. If done carefully, I believe this is going to be a classy piece of work. Much as I absolutely detest the choice for the lead character, if the story keeps me engaged, I guess I can bear with it till the end.

Then again, I believe it is partly due to Mr. Kamenashi that I cannot find the manga at our local Kino. Seems like the fans snapped up the first few volumes to do some background studies before the drama starts.

I would have loved for you to give Kamenashi a second look, not at his pretty face or his popularity, but as an actor. I watched his Tatta drama again yesterday, which he did when he was nineteen (if I was not mistaken) and was again taken aback by his acting ability. His IS engaging, and for such as young age. Ninomiya is another actor that I think has the IT factor but Kazuya has more depth in my opinion. I would even go as far as him being better than the famous Kimura Takuya, for the reason that most of the time Kimura tends to over react, making it so obvious that he is acting. With Kamenashi, it is natural. Nevertheless, thank you for your input. You are much appreciated.

With regards to the point that Kamenashi is better than Ninomiya, I beg to differ. Nino has the ability to blend into his roles naturally but Kamenashi has a different approach. The latter's personality is sometimes a bit too strong that it overshadows the original character of his roles. That is why I think his past acting performance is very much lop-sided i.e. the punky young lad persona.

As to whether Kamenashi is better than Kimura, I reserve my comments on this. That is because I think Kimura is like an advanced version of the strong personality style of acting. If Kamenashi brings too much of his character into his roles, he may just end up like Kimura in future who has been criticized for his never-changing style of acting. The strange thing, I still feel that Kimura's best performance was in Asunaro Hakusho which was shown years ago. At that time, he didn't try too hard to show off a kakkoii side.

I will give Kamenashi another chance in Kami no Shizuku but will lower my expectations. I hope to be pleasantly surprised.

Thank you very much for leaving your comments. ^__^
