Completion screening event of new movie "Yurigokoro"

The completion screening event of new movie "Yurigokoro" was held at Lalaport Toyosu on 3 September which was attended by the director Kumazawa Naoto and cast members Yoshitaka Yuriko, Matsuyama Kenichi, Matsuzaka Toori, Satsukawa Aimi, Seino Nana, Kiyohara Kaya and Kimura Tae. The movie will be released in cinemas from 23 September.

The story describes how a family comes to find a diary belonging to someone they do not know from their dying father's study which describes how this person killed multiple people. However, they are unable to tell if this is a fictional story or a real account by the person in question and why this was written. Yoshitaka plays the heroine Misako described in the diary who is destined to kill people so as to be at peace with herself emotionally. However, when she comes to understand what true love is, she tries to fight against her fate and struggles with the resulting internal turmoil.

Yoshitaka summarised the movie as a story about how love is violent and linked by blood in a most brutal way. Although the movie has nothing which would make the audience chuckle, it is still a movie of love. As the movie will be shown at more than 300 cinema theatres nationwide, she expressed worry about the visitor numbers as the message they wish to convey through this film will only mean something to those who watch it. Yoshitaka also suggested that the audience can keep a lookout for the tears from each of the characters and have a discussion on whose tears they can most empathise with as the entire cast will be crying at some point in the film.

As for Matsuzaka, he reflected on the intense filming which left a deep impression on him and he was glad to have participated in this film. Although he thinks that it may be difficult to empathise or identify with the movie's theme, he hopes that viewers will be able to develop their own conclusions after finding out the truth in the story which is something they may not be able to experience while watching other movies.

As Matsuyama who plays Yoshitaka's love interest in the movie, he revealed that there was a scene where the two of them were naked and he had prepared himself in a way that it would be OK to shoot from any angle. However, he found that the final version of the movie had hid his buttocks for some reason so he voiced his "unhappiness" as he had taken the trouble to put foundation on his buttocks. Upon hearing this, Yoshitaka said that she heard from the crew that the rating of the movie would have likely been upgraded to a restricted category if that shot was included. However, she found it hard to accept since there are other equally "dangerous" scenes in the movie which were left as they were. As such, she joked that Matsuyama's buttocks must have been quite "lethal" to be deemed as something which they cannot show to the audience.

As the movie's post-production work was only completed 5 days before the event, Yoshitaka said that she was quite worried whether they could make it under the tight schedule. Matsuyama echoed her view and said that it was great that the director managed to make it work before thanking him for his efforts.
