The novel is based on a real story featuring the lead character Hironobu (Takasugi) who finds a strange camera in the recycling shop owned by his grandfather which is said to take the longest panorama pictures in the world. The camera was developed by the late Yamamoto Shinichi and is able to take a 360 degree panorama shot. One of the photos taken using this camera measured 145m and is the Guinness record holder for being the longest photo in the world. Since that day, Hironobu's uneventful life takes on new colours. Takeda Rina will be playing Hironobu's cousin.
Takasugi commented that when he read the script, he was struck by how it is a refreshing story about youth with a comical touch. As he is usually the one whose pictures are being taken, he has developed a natural interest in photography and would take his camera along to take pictures of nature and things he likes although he is hardly considered a professional in this field. With regard to the filming at Chita Peninsula, he began to read up on the place and found that there are a lot of places with nice scenery there so he's even more looking forward to the start of the filming.
