Completion screening event of new movie "Hirunaka no Ryuusei"

The completion screening event of new movie "Hirunaka no Ryuusei" was held on 2 March which was attended by the director Shinjo Takehiko and cast members Nagano Mei, Miura Shohei, Shirahama Alan and Yamamoto Maika. The film will be shown in cinemas from 24 March.

The movie is based on the same-titled manga by Yamamori Mika which was serialised in "Magaret" from 2011 and 2014 and had sold more than 2 million copies to date. Nagano plays the lead character Yosano Suzume,  a senior high school student who transfers from the suburbs to a school in Tokyo because her parents are working overseas and she moves to stay with her uncle. Although Suzume has never fallen in love with anyone, she experiences her first love when she gets caught in a love triangle with her form teacher Shishio Satsuki played by Miura Shohei and her classmate Mamura Daiki played by GENERATIONS' Shirahama Alan.

When asked about her favourite scene, Nagano said that when Mamura said to Suzume that things would work out if she chooses to like him was especially memorable as this is something you hardly say to someone. As for Miura, he cited the scene when Mamura wrapped his muffler around Suzume as the scene which made his heart race. Upon hearing this, Shirahama teased him for looking at this from a girl's perspective even though Miura is a guy.

As Suzume has to make a tough decision on which guy to choose, the cast were also asked to give their answers to difficult choice questions about their views about love. The actors were asked what they would choose if they were invited to a meal by their respected senior on the birthday of their girlfriend. Both Miura and Shirahama chose to eat with their senior because Miura felt that he is still a relatively junior actor so he didn't want to get into trouble for rejecting his senior while Shirahama said that he could always arrange to meet his girlfriend another day. With response to their answers, Yamamoto expressed understanding if the reason was due to work while Nagano was OK with her boyfriend doing it if he told her in advance and she could make alternative plans with her friends.

When asked to reflect on the filming, Miura revealed that Shirahama was quick to reply to his LINE messages which showed how close they had become. As for having to play a senior high school student, Shirahama said that he's already 23 and was worried whether he could still pull off the look in the school uniform. On the other hand, Miura commented that his experience so far in romance stories was with people around the same age as him so to play a teacher this time with his student as a love interest was a challenge but he had fun during the filming.

Nagano who is appearing in her first leading role in a movie this time, suddenly started crying towards the end of the event and said that she was overwhelmed and called upon everyone to support this film which they had put in a lot of hard work into. Although she was filled with apprehension about whether she could be the leading lady, she had tried her best during the filming.
