First-day-screening event of new movie "Sanada Juuyuushi"

The first-day-screening event of new movie "Sanada Juuyuushi" was held at Marunouchi Picadilly on 22 September which was attended by the director Tsutsumi Yukihiko and cast members Nakamura Kankuro, Matsuzaka Toori, Oshima Yuko, Kato Masaya, Ootake Shinobu, Nagayama Kento, Kato Kazuki, Aoki Ken, Arai Atsushi, Suruga Taro, Takahashi Mitsuomi, Ishigaki Yuma, Murai Ryota and Mochizuki Ayumu. The movie describes how the lead character Sarutobi Sasuke (Nakamura) leads 10 warriors to resurrect the Toyotomi clan against the 200,000 troops led by Tokugawa Ieyasu by supporting the commander Sanada Yukimura (Kato).

Nakamura commented during the event which was attended by 800 people that he was very grateful that the movie is finally ready to be seen by viewers. He recounted that the filming was done in the middle of winter with a very tight schedule so it was a tough period for both the staff and cast. However, to be able to finish the film and show it to the world, he was thankful for this and felt as if it was a day when flowers bloomed.

As for Tsutsumi who was also responsible for the stage play version of this story first performed in 2014, he expressed his joy that they were able to produce a movie version with the help of everyone. He also called upon the viewers to see both the movie and the latest version of the stage play going on at the same time because both are equally interesting.

When asked about which character is the most charming in the movie, Oshima who plays the character Hotaru chose Ootake who plays Yodo-dono and explained that she felt very happy while spending time with the latter and found it interesting to observe Ootake's sleeping face. In response, Ootaka was pleased and said that she thought initially that Oshima may find her too intimidating and stay away from her but they became close as Oshima kept coming to talk to her. As for the actors who were expecting Oshima to choose one of them, they expressed their "disappointment" at not being chosen with Nakamura commenting that Hotaru doesn't even care a bit about Sasuke.
