Miyazawa Rie & Ikematsu Sosuke to star in the new movie "Kami no Tsuki"

Miyazawa Rie and Ikematsu Sosuke will be starring in the new movie "Kami no Tsuki" (Paper Moon) which is due to be shown in cinemas next year. The movie which is based on Naoki Award winner Kakuta Mitsuyo's novel, will be Miyazawa's first leading role in a movie in 7 years and her first collaboration with Ikematsu.

Miyazawa will play the role of a bank employee who has marital problems and falls in love with a much younger university student (Ikematsu) which leads her to commit embezzlement. Co-stars include Kobayashi Satomi who plays Miyazawa's senior at work.

I liked the drama of Kami no Tsuki. But isn't it weird to have 2 adaptions so shortly after each other? I'll probably watch though!

Hi Shi, the leads of the drama and movie versions are at least different so it makes it easier for people to differentiate between both works. However, I do see what you mean i.e. feels like the two versions are released in such a short period of time. Nonetheless, I think a year's gap is still OK, given that the drama was shown in January/February 2014 and the movie will only be shown in 2015.
