"Futatsume no Mado" set in Amami Oshima starring Sugimoto Tetta and Matsuda Miyuki

Director Kawase Naomi's new movie "Futatseme no Mado" (The Second Window) will be screened in early summer 2014. The movie which is set in Amami Oshima, features Sugimoto Tetta, Matsuda Miyuki, Watanabe Makiko, Murakami Jun, Sakaki Hideo and Tokita Fujio, started location filming on 1 October and is set to wrap up at the end of October. The film focuses on a pair of 16-year-old teenagers and the adults around them and has a central theme of human relationships and talks about how to co-exist with nature while coping with life and death issues.

The title in English is Still The Water, but the literal translation of the Japanese title is The Second Window. Any thoughts? What is the first window? Is it about the sea, the surface of the sea, as a window to the soul or the unconscious? Really liked this movie, and that's an understatement.
